What a repair visit covers
We inspect the whole roof, find where the water gets in, and look for missing shingles, soft spots, storm damage, poor drainage and loose flashing. Then we tell you plainly whether a repair will do or the roof needs replacing, with a free written estimate before any work starts.
Signs you need a repair
- Stains on the ceiling or in the attic.
- Missing, curled, or cracked shingles.
- Granules in the gutters.
- Daylight showing through the roof boards.
[TBD: Gerson to confirm same-day or emergency availability before it is promised here.]
What a typical repair looks like
Every roof is different, but most repairs go in this order.
- You call and tell us where the stain or drip shows up, and when: in heavy rain, wind-driven rain, or snow melt.
- We inspect the whole roof, not just the spot above the stain, because water often gets in somewhere else and runs along the boards.
- You get a free written estimate, and a plain answer on whether a repair will do or the roof needs replacing.
- The repair fixes the cause: resealed or new flashing, replaced shingles, or a new pipe boot.
- We clean up and walk you through what was done.
Questions
Questions we get a lot
Don’t see yours?
It’s faster than email.
[TBD] Draft answers. Confirm each with Gerson, then delete this tag.
Do you work with insurance claims?
Yes. We inspect the damage, photograph it, and can meet your adjuster on site. If we don’t think the damage is worth a claim, we’ll tell you.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes take 1 to 3 days on the roof. Steep, large, or metal roofs can take up to a week. You get the schedule in writing before we start.
What warranties do you offer?
You get the manufacturer’s warranty on materials plus our own workmanship warranty. The exact terms are written into your quote.
Do you pull permits?
Yes. When a job needs a permit, we pull it, schedule the inspection, and handle the county paperwork. It’s included in the price.
Do you do small repairs?
Yes. A few missing shingles, a flashing leak, a cracked pipe boot. Small repairs are a big part of what we do.
